With Charlie Present
Charlie Aldrich migrates to his early winter oasis, Palette, on November 17th with new paintings incorporating his winged friends which promise to be the stars of his show!
His individual birds in these nostalgic scenes have garnered fans not only in Albuquerque, but, at the Los Angeles Art Show and SOFA Chicago as well.
Charlie’s eternally-popular, precisely-constructed, “Bird Boxes” return along with their vintage baubles. Utilizing acrylic paint, memorable objects, and resin, Charlie produces vignettes in his oft-times fanciful artistry. He preserves his creations in a coating of immaculately-applied, clear resin.
As added artistic ambiance, the matchboxes found at the bottom of his paintings are not stationary objects. They come adorned to compliment and add detail to a given assemblage. Just as a matchbox’s inner tray slides out to reveal matches, these boxes keep the same function for Charlie as, instead, you’ll discover unimagined, intricate imagery, rather than matches, inside!
Charlie’s birds, now domesticated underneath their protective resin, have stolen the hearts of previous show attendees and collectors and we reckon they will again this November. His exhibition continues through December 26th, so consider acquiring one or a whole flock of his birds to be used as holiday gifts before they all “fly the coup”!
