“WARM”, an art show of Summer COLOR
Opening Reception: Friday, November 1st from 5-8PM
Show runs thru December 5th
As we get ready to enter Albuquerque’s winter, there’s a portion of us who want to rail against the coming of winter and want it to never arrive.
“WARM” is for those of us who feel this way!
Consequently, beginning Friday, November 1st from 5-8PM, we’ve adorned our gallery walls and pedestals with hues that remind us of glorious SUMMER! Although a number of our selections will be vibrant, you can feel safe in leaving your COPPERTONE at home.
November is the entering of Spring’s last month and brings the potential early emergence of Summer weather, in countries and continents such as Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Among our pieces, we’ll be displaying artwork from those locales as a means of warming our souls. You’ll be exposed to South African mountain scenes and to works by well-collected, contemporary Australian aboriginal painters as well as the angular, minimal glass compositions by Emma Camden who is one of New Zealand’s longest-tenured and most widely-recognized glass artists.
To give eternal hope for a short-to-non-existent winter around here, you’ll find current New Mexico artist, Dan Namingha’s estate landscape paintings reminding you that Summer is just right around the corner!
For those you spirited-enough to wear “t-shirt and shorts” to our November show, we’ll have the Hot Chocolate waiting for you….and, don’t forget your sunglasses!
